67 Pall Mall Wine Club, an esteemed members-only venue dedicated to wine enthusiasts, expanded its legacy to Singapore with a prestigious location at the Shaw Centre Penthouse. Opened in February 2022, this extension of the London-based club sought to create an immersive environment that catered to social engagement, exclusive wine tastings, and refined experiences.
The acoustic challenges of such a sophisticated venue required a bespoke solution. Aural-Aid collaborated with the project’s architects and interior designers to deliver a tailored acoustic treatment that enhanced the venue’s ambiance without compromising its aesthetic².
Exclusive hospitality spaces like 67 Pall Mall demand a harmonious balance between liveliness and tranquility. The club’s design needed to manage multiple sound sources: lively conversations, the clinking of glasses, and the movement of members and staff.
Without proper acoustic treatment, these sounds could create excessive reverberation, detracting from the premium experience. Aural-Aid was tasked with implementing a solution that ensured acoustic comfort while maintaining the venue’s opulent atmosphere³.
Timberix™ Microperforated Panels
To address these challenges, Aural-Aid installed Timberix™ microperforated V3.6/1.8/0.5 acoustic panels. Each panel features approximately 500,000 microperforations per square meter, allowing for precise resonance absorption.
The panels were finished with dark walnut veneer and a matte lacquer, offering a luxurious aesthetic that aligns seamlessly with the club’s interior design. Aural-Aid’s meticulous installation ensured that adjacent veneer pieces were arranged to create a mirror-image effect, further elevating the visual appeal of the space⁴.
Integration with Architectural Elements
The panels were strategically positioned to control reverberation while complementing the architectural design. Aural-Aid worked closely with the design team to ensure that the acoustic solution integrated flawlessly with the space’s high-end finishes and furnishings⁵.
The inclusion of low VOC materials and sustainable manufacturing processes in Timberix™ panels underscores Aural-Aid’s commitment to eco-friendly practices. By using renewable resources and durable designs, the project supports long-term environmental goals while providing exceptional acoustic performance.
These panels also contribute to achieving certifications like LEED and BREEAM, making them a preferred choice for high-end venues prioritizing sustainability⁸.
Aural-Aid’s work at 67 Pall Mall Wine Club demonstrates the transformative power of tailored acoustic design. By integrating high-performance Timberix™ microperforated panels with sophisticated aesthetics, Aural-Aid created an environment that fosters comfort, exclusivity, and sustainability. The project serves as a benchmark for acoustic treatment in hospitality venues, proving that functionality and luxury can coexist harmoniously.
